Scott Rawlinson knows how to put it all together after 20 years in the industry. J&J Wines needed someone who understands all that goes into producing the best wine possible so they looked to Scott Rawlinson to make it happen.

There is genuine honesty to Scott’s ethos in winemaking and it starts with passion for the product and respect for the processes.   He feels the product needs to manifest the producers’ beliefs for an authentic growers product.   With J&J their direction is organic and natural, a true farmers market wine label.  Reflecting the terroir and strengthening their family direction, moving their branding forward, at the same time grounding them to the truths of home grown produce.

Scott’s work history demonstrates an unusual ability to adapt to many facets of the wine industry. From his small beginnings with Trentham Estate Winery in NSW, a strong and family driven winery, Scott moved forward to key positions within the dynamic Blass wine conglomerate.  He has always maintained that the wine is made or broken in the vineyard.  Moving through the ranks Scott cut his teeth at various divisions including Mildara Merbein, Wolfblass Barossa, and Jamison Run Coonawarra where he was Site Winemaker.

In the Easter of 2000 Scott once again aligned himself with a family owned wine business, coming on board as Steve Maglieri’s Chief Winemaker.  As a new chapter was beginning for the Magleri family, so Scott’s talents were truly utilised, not only as an accomplished winemaker but also as the driving force behind the planning, design and project management of a state of the art new winery. 

In 2007 Scott left Serafino to move himself and his family in a new direction off shore to Sweden.  Scott was headhunted to help establish a winery and packaging facility in Sweden.  The operation involved sourcing wine and making wine from many countries, shipping to Sweden for finishing and packaging.  The position provided Scott and his family with European experience and lifestyle. 

Late 2009 it was back to McLaren Vale, a life style place surrounded by vines and great wine.
